The incorrect kind of dislike

You will always have to do things you don’t want to do in order to have the things you do want. Moving through things your lower personality “dislikes” in the moment is different than trying to force yourself to be someone you aren’t.

Things that block you from permitting yourself to step away from things that aren’t meant for you include comparison, shoulds, other people’s agendas, your own agenda, people-pleasing, concern about looking good, fear, doubt, worry, attachment to the past, and so on.

These reactive patterns cut you off from your wisdom and your ability to honor the difference between correct dislike and incorrect dislike. And you may have become so accustomed to tolerating unhelpful dislike that you refuse to experience the helpful kind. It may be time for a discomfort tolerance reversal.

You have gifts, talents, and passions that your body and spirit are always communicating to you. Your job is to make these the center of your life. You probably undervalue them because they feel easy. The next correct form of dislike you may experience is the discomfort that comes from learning to allow this to be your job.

What has your body already been telling you about what you should stop doing that it’s time to listen to?
