A successful version of failure
To understand what failure really is for us, we must first understand what success really is for us.
Many of us spend a lot of time and energy avoiding the “failures” of being judged, looking bad, being uncomfortable, taking a temporary financial loss, or feeling intense sensations. However, these are only failures if we consider success to be feeling like we look good to others and having limited options available to us.
Instead, if we consider success to be self-expression, freedom, courage, contribution, adventure, creativity, fulfillment, and growth, then being judged, looking bad, temporary losses, and intensity are all also success. They are how we open up to the next levels of victory, prosperity, and fulfillment.
And, maybe the “successes” you’ve been focused on have actually been holding you back more than you’ve realized.
